Superior sound production (Hear the Difference)
Phantom shoulder rest's patented fitting design minimizes the shoulder rest's contact to vibrational significant areas of the violin, therefore allowing the violin to vibrate to its fullest potential and thus producing the most natural and fullest sound.
Instead of making empty claims, Phantom shoulder rest was put to the test on the same violin/player and bow against a common bridge type shoulder rest, and against the same violin/player and bow with no shoulder rest at all. You can hear and see the excellent VB Audio Frequency Analyzer test result on our link.
To fully appreciate the improvement of sound, we invite you to experience it yourself by testing our product out on your own violin from any of our suppliers.
Superior freedom of movement (Feel the Difference)
While assisting the shoulder and neck to support the violin, the Phantom shoulder rest is designed to allow for increased long axis rotation of the violin as well as freedom of movement of the left collar bone/shoulder joint (Acromialclavicular joint). These two increased movements allow a much greater freedom in left arm position shifting as well as better bow string contact angle, thus improving string crossings and sound production.
It is precisely the above movement advantages that playing without any shoulder rest can offer, but at the cost of instability in holding the violin.
For the violinists who normally prefers no shoulder rest, Phantom shoulder rest offers better shoulder and neck support and violin stability, while maintaining the freedom of movement and better sound.
For the regular shoulder rest users, Phantom shoulder rest offers significant new freedom of movement and ease of playing, as well as tremendous tonal advantages while maintaining shoulder support .
Keep in mind that just like changing strings or bow, phantom shoulder rest will take some time to get used to, in order to fully use the shoulder rest to its full advantage.
